The National Institute of Packaging, Handling, & Logistics Engineers (NIPHLE) is an assemblage of professionals whose interests in the complex and diverse practice of distribution and logistics is a common bond. The Institute was constituted on August 8, 1956 in Washington, D.C. with the objective of improving communication between practitioners in these related areas of endeavor. The degree to which success has been achieved is measured in the growth and diversity of membership which has resulted.

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan - U.S. Marines and Master Labor Contractors with the Logistics Department Fuels Division observe the Aircraft Direct Fueling System (ADFS) during the first hot refuel utilizing the new system at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Oct. 19, 2017. The ADFS allows the aircraft to rotate crew, take on cargo or Marines and keep its engines running while accepting fuel. This training marked the first refueling evolution at the new hot refueling pit designed to distribute fuel to Type-4 aircraft such as the KC-130J Hercules, MV-22 Osprey and MH-60 helicopter. At the close of the most recent NIPHLE 2017 Training Event, a few of the members decided that a fresh look for the organization was necessary to bring in new members and enhance the really great work that has been done over the years. A small group from Industry and Government are actively working to incorporate a BLOG, a NIPHLE Linkedin Account , an updated FACEBOOK page and TWITTER Feed for the benefit of current and new membership.
