The National Institute of Packaging, Handling, & Logistics Engineers (NIPHLE)
is an assemblage of professionals whose interests in the complex and diverse practice
of distribution and logistics is a common bond. The Institute was constituted on
August 8, 1956 in Washington, D.C. with the objective of improving communication
between practitioners in these related areas of endeavor. The degree to which success
has been achieved is measured in the growth and diversity of membership which has
resulted.
Originally
an organization which met only in the Washington, DC area, the Institute now boasts
several chapters throughout the country and an international membership. From a
limited program restricted to monthly meetings in the Washington area, the NIPHLE
program has expanded to include regular chapter meetings throughout the country
and two annual national symposia of significant professional importance. Specialized
symposia, of a more limited duration, are also sponsored by the Institute as a part
of its extensive, continuing educational endeavors to improve the state of the art
in packaging, handling, and logistics.
In order to establish a realistic understanding of Industrial and Government logistics
and to solve logistics problems through proper packaging and handling design, the
Institute is focused on: Individuals whose interests resemble the objectives of
the Institute are invited to participate in activities of NIPHLE and requests for
information on any topic within the expertise of the group are encouraged. You are
invited to further explore the benefits of expanded affiliation with the NIPHLE
